“THE MEMORIZING EFFECT OF THE NCLEX-PN Exam”

Most people love to memorize when they are getting ready to take an exam, but does it work in all cases? I am sure all the inferior flash cards, pages of highlighted notes, audio recordings taken in class, and poor study guides are not adequate enough for some people. AVOIDING THE NCLEX-PN MISTAKES OTHERS ARE MAKING

You want to avoid all the NCLEX-PN test mistakes that others who have failed made in the past. These are the people who:

  1. Try to guess what will be on the test and study in vain
  2. Act as Mr. or Mrs. “know it all,” and do everything by themselves without any help
  3. If they seek help, try to go the cheap way and use borrowed outdated materials
  4. Depend on text books alone to prepare for the exam
  5. Continue to struggle even with the warning signs

“NO MORE HAIR-PULLING TO TAKE CSET TEST”

California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) has become one of the most popular “hair pulling,” exams that individuals are scared to take. Tutoring is one of the methods being used by teachers to pass the CSET test. By law California law indicates that anyone who wants to take the CSET test has to identify their subject knowledge and competency. Does that really make it any easier to pass the test? You would think that it would, but it certainly is not so for some very nervous candidates.

CSET TEST CHOICES

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) has instituted two ways of fulfilling the test requirement. You can either finish a special program at a learning institution selecting a subject matter that is initially approved by the CCTC (CSET waiver program).

Secondly, you are allowed to take the test and pass it in one or more subject matters. If your choice was the second one, then you would do well with the CSET study guide. You are allowed to choose multiple subjects to take on the test or a single subject such as Math or English.

If you are not prepared for any test, you are going to be bombarded with feelings of insecurity, fear and anxiety. It is just a matter of fact.   1. Practice, Practice, Practice
  2. Hone in on your critical thinking skills because this is one of the important aspects of the test
  3. Get help, if possible, from others who have taken the test and passed
  4. Sharpen your vocabulary especially if you taking the single English subject assessment
  5. Create your own essay writing as part of the practice regimen
  6. Be disciplined in your study habits
  7. Use familiar objects, phrases and things as a point of memory

“LET YOUR GACE TEST MEMORY BE YOUR GUIDE”

When you are getting ready to take any kind of test, one key ingredient is remembering what you studied. A lot of test takers get into the exam room and forget everything that they studied. That is really a downer.

Before you even go into the GACE test, you need to be sure that you find key strategies to memorize things so that you can remember them. Never panic. This is a distinct element for memory loss.

MEMORY TIPS THAT STICK

1) You’ll need to maintain a positive attitude that you will remember everything you studied and get it right the first time. If you think that you cannot pass the GACE test, then you won’t. 4) Don’t wait until the last minute to cram everything in. Develop shorter study periods. Your brain needs time to digest new information and to process it into your memory bank. 5) Associate the information that you study to something that is already familiar to you. Ask yourself, “What does this compare to that I already know and understand?” Creating a mental picture of the information will give you more assurance that you will pass the GACE test.

“SLOWING DOWN THE NERVES OF GACE TEST TAKING”

Taking an exam or test can be quite a daunting and a nerve wracking experience especially if you are not prepared. Imagine going into the GACE testing center with no idea of what will be on the test and especially if you have not gone over any of the materials that would prepare you for the GACE test. You would be sitting like a blank slate not knowing what to do.

If you were fully prepared you could go in with so much more confidence that you would welcome the opportunity to take the test and pass it.

Of course, you are going to have some nerves going in because you don’t know what to expect, but for the most part, when you study for the test, you will be in control of the nerves with some self talk.

During the GACE test be sure to remain calm. Take deep breaths and relax. Read the instructions carefully before you answer the question. Structure your test taking time for each question.

Fear might sometimes grip you when you cannot answer a question. Move on to the next question or begin writing if you are doing an essay and the answer might come back to you.

Positive reinforcement is a strategy to erase anxiety. Acknowledge that you are doing your best and keep going.
